Welcome
My name is Ivan Maria Friedman. I am a photographer, cinematographer, filmmaker, classical musician, and writer.
Since a young age, I’ve been deeply drawn to the nature of reality. Questions about the origin of life, the mystery of consciousness, and the silent presence beneath experience have shaped my way of seeing the world. Influenced by philosophy, metaphysics, and contemplative traditions across cultures, my path has been shaped by a sustained curiosity for what lies beneath the surface of things—a search for unity, clarity, and meaning.
Art became a natural extension of this inner inquiry. Music came first—an early language through which I could begin to sense and shape what could not be spoken. Later, I discovered photography, filmmaking, and editing, each offering new ways to observe, frame, and express what I perceive.
I became fascinated by the possibility of bringing these forms together, applying the formal principles of one medium to another. In their interrelatedness, I find a field of endless possibility—a way to explore life from multiple perspectives, to refine my personal vision, and to offer a voice through which I can share what I find beautiful and meaningful.
What is this experience of being here and now? What is it that we call life? What is this magnificent cosmic play all about?
Art, in all its forms, is a way of staying close to the questions that move me—through image, sound, movement, and silence:
